Did my tib playing footie about 3 years ago. Had the choice of a rod or cast and chose the rod as the doc seemed to think I'd be up and about in (his words) a couple of weeks.

Nu uh.

Try AT LEAST 6 months before you are walking properly and that was after physio.

I was mobile, but crutches for 12 weeks and then a stick (cue many, many Biff jokes) for another 6 after that.

Sorry mate, but thats the way it is. But, now 2 and a half years on its like it never happened, apart from the scars, and the fact you can feel the screw heads through my skin.

Still, always a good ice breaker at parties!

Christ, Ms Rabbit is winning I think?

Personally two broken fingers, neither as a result of motorised bicycles (despite 20+ crashes). Do you remember those wooden metre rulers teachers used to have? Do you remember how they used to smack them down on the desks of kids who weren't paying attention? Yeah? Well, my hand was in the way when you did that, thanks very much Twenty years later and I've still got the scars. Nowaday's I imagine it'd result in a national scandal and front page news, back then, well teacher was still there when I got back from hospital On the upside, I sure as hell paid attention in class

+1 - Scaphoid in 2 parts due to being pushed down stairs as a kid. At least I can detect when the weather is changing

Carpal bones, 5 broken, in a total of 11 places. Also the thumb metacarpal. That's still really sore.

Broken fingers x3, cracked knuckles a couple of times.
