Up in Teesside but may post, he does sell on ebay too (from our conversation while I was there) but no idea if this stuff is on there. Had a bit more of a look at the lens on the K2, it has a wobbly front barrel, but also seems it won't stop down past about f8 - the aperture ring clicks but the aperture doesn't get any smaller. I have other lenses I can use to try the camera out, but looks like this will need a bit of attention. It's a Pentax 50mm f1.2 and looks like a nice piece of kit. I'm looking at a couple of camera cases on ebay - they do still have cameras in them though! I might soon be able to do you a deal on a Nettar 6x6 without a case... |

The AE-1 lives! Installed the battery and some Poundland film and popped off a few shots.

You've all inspired me to dig this back out. I used to use this all the time and it took lovely pictures. I've got a stack of old brand new films sealed up in canisters still too. I'll run them through the camera and see if they are any good.
![]() Found these in the case as well. ![]() Last edited by garynortheast; 16-05-15 at 12:13 PM. |

Were you shooting the flowers wide open? I must get in Flickr sometime, I took a load of pics when I dismantled the lenses on a couple of cameras and should post them for other people.
I'm naturally a bit of an equipment geek, but I'm more enjoying the challenge of fixing old stuff than just poring over numbers or summat. That said I've not done a lot of photography in years until again in the last 12 months, and it is nice to be back into it. I've seen a lot of arty shots on forums, Flickr etc. but it's not my style, but I have found myself spotting things that would make good pictures, even if I haven't taken one, if that doesn't sound daft. I might even feel like I can estimate a good exposure one day! I'm messing about with fill-in flash just now, still finishing the roll of film in the Vitomatic, which has a leaf shutter so can sync at any speed. |

Yeah, as wide as it would go I think. Something like F1.8. Not digital so I can't just dip into the exif data. Just finished the roll in the Ensign and a roll from one of the Vito Bs.

Arette? According to my Google-fu anyway!
I've been studiously writing down all the settings when I've been putting test films through, or for tryout stuff like messing around with the flash. It's a bit tedious but if something comes up or it's just a crap picture, I've got something to go on. Someone on Ebay is selling a Voigtlander Brilliant, they've misspelled it and I think it's in with camera cases or something, could be a bargain, but it's a pseudo-TLR not a coupled one. In case you're interested: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Voightland...-/181748019050 |
