If you want to take the "natural" thing a wee bit further- some things that aren't natural for humans. Living in houses. Wearing clothes. Refining oil, forging metals, shaping plastics, and riding motorbikes in general. Living past 60. Flying. Written language. If you take away everything we do that isn't natural, you'll find us living in caves, and in those caves, some folks will still be gay...

Just because a couple of clergymen have been found to be child molesters, doesn't mean all of them are. Conversely, due to the nature of activities that homosexuals participate in, it makes the spread of disease much more likely; and I believe it is this he is referring to.

In fairness he did probably say it as a joke in response to the adverts on cigarettes that show what they can do for your health.

Making comments about priests is just the same as making comments about gays. Its all narrow minded, and whilst we all say it in jest amungst our friends or whatever, saying it 'on the record' is stupid for anyone.
