MattCo, if you were a Canon man and had the option of a Canon 10-22 or Sigma 10-20, which would you choose? I'm after a wide angle for the 40d but can't make my mind up which to go for...

I had some Canon gear for a while... The short of it is I dont know because I have never used either. I have used the Sigma 12-24 in F mount (I bought it to give away as a Christmas present) and that is a good lens and one which I would not hesitate to recommend.

Just a thought about the ultra-wides. They are not that easy to use at the wide end due to curvature so would suggest something like a 12-24 as a more usable range.

You could search the dpreview forums for a range of responses.

Cheers

Well with it being a crop body, I'm looking for that extra width as it should give it a theoretical length of around 16mm. The curvature is actually something I'm looking to exploit so want that extra 2mm

Fair enough as long as you have an idea of what you want and what you're getting in to.

Bit early. I had a pm asking me to leave it alone to hopefully throw you off the camera scent just before my last post. Bless her merry heart. I hope that it works for you.
