I'm just figuring it's worth looking for like for like replacements, the peg is warped and I don't have the means to reshape it but have seen them going cheap in the past. The brake lever is snapped and I would prefer if I can find a cheap S/H Suzuki one if possible, but am open to using a repair peg or other non genuine replacement lever if I need to

What you're suggested sounds the cheapest route but not the simplest, especially as I don't have all the necessary tools or skills to do a proper good job. I don't need the bike on the road straight away either and the wife drives our car anyway.

edit: might be cheaper and better option to get a non-genuine black anodised pair of pegs maybe, but will the hong kong ones be absolute carp is the real question...

Jesus!! There's nothing wrong with the thing!! I was imagining severe scratches.

You don't even need to replace the crash bung!

I still have the grazes on my crash bung from where the previous owner dropped it.
Not really worth replacing unless it's badly worn/ bent beyond use.

Wow lol. All this discussion and talk of claiming on the insurance because of that tiny bit of damage?!

I bought this bike brand new last August and 24 hrs ago it still was "as new". Now on trade in I lose out for something that arguably wasn't caused by me...

If I wanted to replace all the parts that are damaged to get the bike back to it's previous glory, and so it didn't lose more value in trade in / sale, I am talking a lot of money and realistically needing to claim on the insurance as that is what it's for.....however I've since learn't it's not such a good idea thanks to the robbing b'stard insurance industry. Functionality it is rideable once I sort the right peg and rear brake lever out but that's not the point is it?

I'm sorry if you think this is petty but surely any one that has bought new and gone through similar would understand my frustrations and the reasons for me asking all these questions?

@reeder, tiny bit of damage that will no doubt mean I get shafted on trading in...which I'm aiming to do at the end of this year

I don't think you'll lose that much on value. I would always recommend selling it though rather than chopping it in.

I was on the same boat as you mate, my sv had a bit more damage maybe.

I replaced the essential stuff, then a couple of months later I got a new painted nose cone from Suzuki for £256, I didn't have lowers on at the time though.
I got my dented tank repaired and painted when I was ready to sell, cost £120 ish.
Tbh mate, don't panic, plenty of time to get it sorted.
