Does it play f***in songs? Thought so, jobs a good 'un, make do.

I had to buy my own mp3 player, I could have bought an iPod for £100+ but instead I bought one for a tenner, presume the change was spent on about 80 pints, I think in retrospect it was the correct decision

That'll do for you YC and your Yorkshire ways, spending good brass on beer instead of non essentials

However when your peers at school have everything they want given to them, its a big thing to have some nice bling.

She'd specifically asked for an Ipod Touch, and she'd never had much in the way of really expensive presents and has never asked for big expensive stuff, but last year was a disaster and I didn't want of a repeat of the tears we had.

If you'd been given some cheap Chinese spanners instead of Snap On, you'd feel the same I reckon.

Used that logic when I bought an Ipod, had it since 2008 never went wrong

Update time, my eldest was given the Ipod Nano for her birthday and although there were no tears she wasn't happy, as she can't do the things on the nano that she can on the Ipod Touch.

So selling the Nano and we went out and got the Touch, but there's a national shortage of the 8gb ones, even the local Istore had sold out!

But the ironic thing is, we travelled 12miles to our nearest big Argos, Istore & HMV, only to find out nobody had one in stock, then went to a branch of a local independent electrical retailer, who checked their stock aqnd there were 2 Ipod Touches in our local shop 2min from our house!!!!!!

FFS

But as I anticipated and I'm with Soulkiss on this, using this Apple product & software is a PITA.

Even trying to download Free Apps it keeps asking for credit card details.

I don't have this problem on Android MP.

Still she's happier and has nearly got enough money for a laptop she wants

All sorted, Kindle returned to my bestest mate. Refund will be sorted and it can be put towards a Kindle Fire when Amazon get around to launching it. I can use it for more than just an e-reader.

And Mr LPH liked his Beer Making (and drinking) masterclass in a brewery voucher and I also bought him some of those custom made ear plugs. They are intended for him to wear on the bike but I suspect he'll put them in at home to stop me nagging him about his rubbish present buying skills.

I've not yet worn him down to let me have a third cat from the shelter but I am going up there for a visit...
