Glamorgan. I have a 1st class honours degree in computing from there, I have also finished a masters I'm doing part time (on course for a distinction) there in an open university format.

I can say quite honestly, that it's one of the best for computing in the country (many of my clients are universities, so I see a fair few). Very good staff and superb facilities. It's only the low entry requirements (and subsequently, large number of rather dim students) that really hold the place back IMO. The only reason I wouldn't do my doctorate there (I may do one full time in 3-5 years time) is the lack of prestige associated with the place. It seems a shame that people seem to fail to recognise that the course they did is what makes a university graduate, not the reputation of the place as a whole. For this reason, I will probably try one of the oxford colleges for my doctorate.

We (small software company) had a sales rep in from an IT training company the other day.

Rep: '...and we are actually a fully owned subsidiary of Thames Valley university...'
Our MD: 'Ohh! Slough Tech? I did my A levels there.'

Got kicked out of school at 17 because I was basically extracting the urine.

Been gainfully employed for the 20 years since then.
