Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I still have the original black ones but wanted a set for track tyres. I thought they had the Ducati Fila rear wheel look about them However, now you got me thinking about getting them painted!!

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Gold would have that classic look. Chrome silver? A shade of red?
They've got a good range at Maldon and know about bike wheels

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The R on the GSXR logo is a red/dark orange. Thinking I might match that up. Not keen on chrome since I spent a year of the HD

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Chrome powder coat is nicer than you imagine. But the red or orange would tie in nicely.
Or black

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Cleaned up swingarm bearings and regrease them then set about giving the rear caliper a service. While I was at it I've degreased the rear of the engine and the swingarm and used the opportunity to remove the battery guard while the retaining screws were accessible ready for a shock upgrade.
New stainless exhaust studs and nuts on the front and we mikalor exhaust clamps front and rear. Do many people decat their bikes and does it have any gains? |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Today I have been mostly tinkering with my raised veg beds. The 8x1 treated timbers last well but have to be replaced in rotation every six years or so. Sorted two of them today and now my back aches. Feels good to be ready for the planting though which begins in just a few weeks.

Today, I have mostly fitted, snazzy blue v-trec levers to the VRaptor.
They're so pretty!

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Landlord gave me 1 side of the double garage attached to my house. Sooo, a couple of days tidying and organizing and all is well. Borrowed a mates motorbike trailer yesterday to pick my bike up from my mums garage.
Flaming car cost me another £1300 last month so work on the bike has slowed bar cleaning. Twin exhaust has been test fitted, ordered some new gaskets and clamps, engineers at work are making me a 'cap' for the second outlet for MOT time. Still looking for a cheap set of end cans, but in about 2 weeks it'll be up and running. |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Fitted a wireless thermostat to the home boiler. Less painful than I expected

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
With my wireless stat the most awkward bit was synching it to the receiver - supposedly it just needed the 2 battery trays to be pushed in one after the other, but I think it actually needed 5 goes and 20 profanities to allow it to connect
