Re: Vintage film cameras
Just seen a job lot on eBay with a lynx 1000 and a canonet with f1.9 glass, all with dodgy shutters. Can't post up the number from here. Will add a lynx to the car boot shopping list.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Think I've seen the same one, I also managed to find out tonight that the Lynx 1000 and 5000 should have the same aperture blades, I wasn't sure of that until now. I found an ancient thread on the Rangefinder forum, someone else with the same problem as mine, but a Lynx 1000 this time. No photos alas (links too old) but the description matches and I've seen pics of the 5000 in bits, they are definitely the same. REALLY could do with a CMSNL.com for old cameras!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just dug out my Lynx and compared it to your blade photos on Flickr, sad to say they look nothing alike. Here is the auction number 252379894510

Re: Vintage film cameras
Those are the shutter leaves, you can see the aperture leaves/blades via the film chamber. Nice clean lens though!

Re: Vintage film cameras
That's the other way to see them! Yes mine are curved too. The business end is the important bit butis hidden in the workings - many (like Canonets which also have a Copal SV shutter) have aperture blades with holes in them (and are often straight not curved) just like the shutter leaves, the earlier ones like the Lynxes and Konica S have embossed studs instead, which can break off (hello!).

Re: Vintage film cameras
I can get more light shooting in to the lens rather than through the film chamber.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hey Yoko, I have a spare set of the rising sun skins for the Trip if you want them? They look good but I just didn't like the feel. Bought a Yashica 50mm f1.9 DSB lens for the FX-D to replace the ML. I still can't get it apart to clean the fungus. The DSB is only single coated as apposed to the ML being multi-coated. Also have an Argus C3 on the way for spares so I can get mine up and running. Car boot sale tomorrow. Fingers crossed for something interesting! Apart from the X500, is there anything else that would take your fancy? He had a few Minolta SLRs.
