Re: Vintage film cameras
Is there much of a difference? I have a couple that came with cameras, think I took some pics with and without and didn't notice a difference, but some kinds of light e.g. when it's snowy can have a blue cast otherwise

Re: Vintage film cameras
I have read that it can slightly soften images, can cause flare in certain situations and alter the colours a bit.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It's another surface so there is always the chance of flare if it isn't coated or cleaned. Give it a go.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'm sitting here reading some photography magazines on my Kindle and wondering if I need to keep my Nikon D5200 anymore. Yes it has a bigger sensor than my G1 or OMD, but it's also bigger in size and weight. And recently with the lockdown its just been sitting there. I probably don't need the G1 either but given the rubber coating has worn off the grip somewhat, I probably wouldn't get much for it anyway. Debating whether to trade the Nikon in for some kit for the OMD or just leave it in the cupboard.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It's a good question, I still wonder why DLSRs are so big when there's no film chamber. I pondered over resolution before getting my X30, in the end there is only so much you need, so it depends where that point is.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Its the mirror box, get rid of that and the size drops. M43 isn't that much smaller than the APSC sensor in the Nikon, but I suppose an optical finder in low light would be better than an EVF.

Re: Vintage film cameras
With EVF you get to see the picture that will get taken though. Re. resolution, unless you use "digital zoom" (cropping) much then you can print pretty big sizes from seemingly lowly megapixels. You now know as much as I do about digital!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Probably won't win this one, but the lens looks a bit different.
