Re: Vintage film cameras
I think the bits I googled said either it meant people ended up pressing too hard, or when you closed the case then it pressed on the shutter button, either way, the internals were a bit fragile to begin with. I think I have seen a soft shutter lever, perhaps for Leica, that gives you more leverage hence a softer feel, so can allow a lot more force on the shutter button that normal if you're a ham-fisted buffoon.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Strange, can't see it making much difference. I took mine off, not quite sure where I stashed it! I'm contemplating moving some of my Canon gear, I have plenty of Olympus, Nikon, Pentax and Minolta gear (Yoko's fault) but Canon doesn't seem to do it for me. Maybe it can fund more gear.

Something that doesn't seem to come up very often, might need a tinker. Pentax K2 DMD 184604340341

Re: Vintage film cameras
No, not me. I did contemplate it but I decided to start saving for a Nikon F and an Olympus Pen F.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice, sounds like a simple mechanical problem, shame it went. Is your K2 fixed now?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Only thing left to do is sort the meter display adjustment, but I'm leaving it for the moment.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Picked up a couple of rolls of this. I might shoot one and keep the mint one. Expired July 1972.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've just sent a message to WYC as they have a couple of Nikon F cameras in stock and I'm seeing if they would be interested in a trade. Got a good deal last time for a Nikon F2 so I'll see what they say.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Is that 120 or 110 film? Blimey, I was born in 72. Finally finished the film in my Super Fujica 6 and got it ready to send off. We had a surprising amount of snow today, we've had hardly any as we're in the east, so I took a few pics of the front of our house, and later on took a walk to finish off the rest. Good job I took my digi as well, I keep thinking 6x6 gives you 16 pics but it's 12, so I only had one left. It has auto wind on so I've not been looking at the frame number - sometimes with so few pics it's hard to just take a pic instead of worrying if it's going to be worth it. Not a problem in your half frame with 36 exp film Kenzie!
