Nm or ft lb its just a mesure of turning force.
That's the correct amount Hong

If you did a bolt to 50 lb ft then yes it would be a different amount of force if you did it to 50Nm .
But what Chris said why use lb ft on a metric bolt. That's not the same as saying lb ft is the same as Nm or kg cm ..

Nitron are sending me out a new nut and bolt.

56mm length with 1 washer - definitely different from the last 2!

Techy is calling this afternoon/tomorrow too.

Update.

Fitted the new (shorter) bolt, which was a bit shorter and this time I torqued it up no issues, no sign of threading or anything. Solid, perfect.

However!

Even now with a single washer at the head of the bolt, as the Nitron tech told me to do, without a nut, the end of the bolt still touches the face of the dog bone *just*.

With the nut on and everything done up, the top face of the but is in 100% contact with the dog bone.

However this time it doesnt seem to impeding the shock function. Went up and down a few bumps, no loud metal on metal sound as before.

Seem to remember it sagging a bit more previously, and maybe I can contribute this to the contact adding slight friction, but then again it could be placebo.

What do you reckon guys?

Leave it, or pay more to have a garage look at it?

Most important thing is, is it safe?

Not taken her for a proper spin yet due to time contraints.

Does the thread of the bolt protruded past the nylock part of the nut .
I think this is what your saying is touching the dog bone?

No, it doesnt - flush or just under.

Its the top face of the nut which is in contact. If it was a normal nut without the domed bit on top for the nylock part it would be ok, but its this bit that is touching.

Also, just to mention, I'm pretty sure I held the nut against the clevis with no bolt, and lined the dog bone up - still touches.

Its the nylock that stops it undoing so you need that part.
From pics iv seen they are all very close .
When I put a nut n bolt on mine I used an "oddie" lock nut.
That ran close but just enough room.
Id query Nitron e mail a pic too.
