The only dilema I have this year is that as we are going on the bike (without Lily's car!!!!) I will not be able to bring my 4 litre bottle of Zumerset cider.....soooooooo.....I may be PM'ing those with a car nearer the time to ask if they could transport said alcoholic delight.

Plenty of room?????? How, I saw how you guys had the bike packed up but can't imagine my luggage skills are anywhere near as impressive as that....

As for the rucksack.....can't imagine Lily would love me dumping a rucksack full of zider on her!!! lol....or maybe; "Yes darling, I have packed your straightners, hair dryer and make up for you....just don't open the bag".

Packings eeeeasy, just put everything on top of everything, biggest stuff at the bottom and LOTS of bungees

I wouldn't recommend a rucksack anyway, especially not that big, Lily would get awful backache! Besides the fact that you might end up wheeli-ing the bike everywhere, pillion + lots of cider + luggage = wheeeeelie!

Two 5 litre jugs of cider fit into a tank bag. Sorted.

If using panniers, the only other thing to worry about is balance. Just make sure you have the heavy stuff evenly spread.

Probably would be after the ride there (unless everyone votes East Anglia more specifically Essex/suffolk ) - can only do about 120 miles max with lots of breaks on any one day I aim to work on increasing that come some better weather (if I can afford the petrol)

Long story, but I don't/cant do trains/coaches/buses/other peoples cars (no offence!) and I'm unable to stray too far from home (complex reasons) thanks for the suggestions though
