I'll leave people to chose between ArtyLady's final words or Lozzo's who's happy to assess my abilities on nothing more than years riding

Funny how some people here aren't keen on a few IAM obssesives looking down their noses at people but in the same breath they're quite OK with doing it themselves...

So you've had the broken bones, the bent bikes to learn some lessons and become in your own opinion an "advanced" rider. What's up with learning the same lessons without breaking stuff?

Already a Car Member (Passed the test about 3 years ago, when I was 20), and I've just recently put in for my Motorbike test too. So all things going well, I'll have passed both at 23.

I'd highly recommend it! (Just grit and bare through the 'sticking to speed limits' stuff while doing the lessons/tests) - if only for the discount you get on insurance!

Just noted this comment, the IPSGA system is the same one used by the Bike Cops (someone correct me if I'm wrong?) The theory comes from the Police Roadcraft book.

I think thats right.
Ive done the four wheel version of the Police Roadcraft course without the ongoing persuit class A stuff and it was definitely useful if a bit regimented. It was also quite a long time ago and this thread got me thinking about doing some more training.

I have a genuine question then, what would IAM teach me that I couldnt teach myself by getting a copy of the Roadcraft book ?

How do you think it should be done?
