Initialisms like HTH, IIRC, AFAIK are not standard English phrases but they are used frequently in an internet forum context.

CAPITALISATION does not mean shouting in a textbook, but it does on an internet forum.

Multiple exclamation marks are generally not seen in your typical novel but here they can convey varying degrees of shock or surprise.

Becoming a pedant on an internet forum really is a waste of time, language used in such an informal setting will never be used correctly by everyone.

Just be grateful we all use what can loosely be described as English, a language that is changing all the time, and has been doing so for the last 1500 years.

English is merely what the speaker and listener agree on as English. No rules are set in stone with most being merely guidelines created by observing generally accepted usage.

As a reader you adjust your expectations and interpretation of the text based on the source of the material.

A broadsheet reads very differently from a tabloid newspaper.

A 19th century novel reads very differently from a modern day comic book.

An academic paper reads differently to an internet forum.

etc, ad nauseum...

If you don't understand someone, ask them for a clarification. If you don't care ignore them and just get on with it.

Anyway, forums posts are more akin to natural speech than crafted prose and should not be subject to the same rigorous application of punctuation and grammar.

Do you always speak in a grammatically correct manner?
