I didn't use a torque wrench i torqued it up nice and tight then tried it out, it was a bit stiff so backed it off and got it spot on. No movement and its not sticky.

You don't need the peg spanner to get the lock nut off btw you only need it to put it back on. I undid the pivot with a 19mm hex and it came off with the locknut attached.

Bike feels sooooo much better in the corners, it's very surefooted now where it used to be a bit scary!

Settling in to long sweepers feels lovely now and means i can concentrate on my line rather than the bike moving around under me!

Everyone check your swingarm bearings!!!

well on sunday i REALY felt the back end move about. svdemon and i had a little chat about it and have come to the conclusion that the bearings are responsible for the head shaking on long sweeping corners. his bike used to do this and now does not and the only difference is the tightening of the swingarm bearings mine still does it. ok i have got used to it but i would still rather not have it.

ordering tool this week and setting about tightening things up.

It would be interesting to know how much past the recommended torque you have to go

yes.. i have just jumpt over from gixxer.com forums

is seems GSXR have the same problem just full seviced my bike a GSXR 1000 K6 ... it has done 13k miles... i have the same swingarm play on the pivot bolt... it feels horrible ...so it seems suzuki bikes are all the same..also yamaha.. R1 s have the same swingarm play on the pivot bolt problem.. lol its life i guess... one could go to the lengths to replace all the swingarm bearings which does cost loads of money ... & still have the play... do these if you have **** loads of play ...BUT some play we always remain ...

sean exeter .. devon
