Possible other side of the coin.

Rider is stopped for what ever reason checks are carried out it turns out the rider has only passed there test with in a few days. The DVLA datebase will not have been updated to that effect and rider does not have the test passed certificate on them. DSA cant be contacted as its out of hours. Then by virtue of the fact he is on a 650cc bike 33bhp or not he can not ride it alone.

It doesnt have to be a about horsepower issue.

The reason they pulled me was, they said " i looked to young to be riding such a big bike " i wasnt speeding when the spoke to me, i was pulled to the side of the road talking to a friend (not on the pavement) I then road off as they asked and they perused me

If it was doubt about him being on DAS bike with L plates noone would mention 33bhp at all

SURELY, the initial problem to be tackled is the seizure of the bike?? NO receipt NO producer request for ANY FORM of documentation in respect to the rider and or bike???

Take care Flame, I will talk with you when I return home Tuesday.

And who gives them the right to say you look too young, theres far more 'too young' looking drivers out there that can't see over the steering wheel, so why aren't they picking on them too?

all coz you look too young!?

Apart from the fact no paperwork was issued make sure upon complaint that you mention the bike was seized due to imo discrimination, not an actual offence.

c*nts

As I know Flame, "little whippersnapper", using the "police" reasoning for talking to him whilst STATIC at the side of the road, would it give them the right to question me as an OAP for being TOO OLD when having my Zimmer Frame fastened safely to my bike??
They also asked him to move along and then delibertly persued him WHY !!!

Read all of the posts with interest
I'm not going to give advice as like a lot of people on here, am not 100% sure of my legal facts
Only thing I'm certain of is that given what the Op and his subsequent posts have said, I'd be mightily p!ssed off at the way the police have handled the situation.
I wait with baited breath to hear how the saga evolves!

You were parked? They told you to move off? AND THEN STOPPED YOU?!?!?!?!?!?

Get down to the station and DEMAND to speak with at least a Sergeant but preferably an Inspector.

If all is as written then it's disgusting. However I am confused about a couple of things about the incident.
Was Flameboy riding when asked to pull over, or already stopped and talking to someone at the side of the road? If riding, how on earth can they estimate how old e was with lid and gear on? If stopped how could they be sure he was riding said vehicle without proper license?
Just playing devils advocate for a mo - something is definately not right. No paperwork - not genuine police? or there was more to the stop than first suggested?
