This is true, the bike seems to run better with the baffle in place and we took it out for a ride to check out how it ran. My first impressions are that it is too loud for me to enjoy the sound. I think that ear plugs are going to become a regular thing and not just when I am on the motorway. Damn my rubbish ears!

The next thing is strange and I am not sure if this is just psychological, but I swear that the bike picks up speed a fraction faster and runs a little more aggressively.

The paint job is fantastic and I have new graphics for my Suzuki badges and a new protector on the tank too.

OK, I gave in and did it. My fingers hurt now, as does my shoulder and I am not sure that my Step Daughter will ever speak to me again because I asked her to help...

I polished the front header pipe.

Ten years of filth, grime and oxidisation.

The front one is easy to see, but the rear one remains hidden from view and easy access. With the new can, the front pipe just looked rotten and a mate had commented that my exhaust would never look shiny again once i had it for a while.

So yesterday afternoon, Beth and I set to it and with a wad of wire wool, two sheets of emery and even the power sander at one point and we gave it a good go. However I had to stop when I thought that my back was going to break and I would never walk again after laying on the road cleaning the pipe.

At some point the whole system needs to come off for cleaning and painting in the dark recesses where corrosion seems to be gathering. However that time is not today, I ache far too much for such difficult work. So I am going back to bed!

They're stainless they don't rot*. Waste of time painting them or otherwise fookin about.

*Except for the silly heat shield thing that falls off, don't need that bit anyway
