fair point, any reasonable bike can break the speed limits easily And a lot of those points do sound unlucky, not nice enough to the police officer?

I've only seen one speed trap in Norfolk on the B roads and that was coming into a 40 zone for a stretch of houses that I wouldn't call a villiage...

You're right, having fun in areas with no junctions/houses is for the most part fine, it's when in deliberately restricted speed areas such as those 50's and 40's that care is needed for all sorts of reasons

I find I am at my worst after a nice healthy ride and am on my way home coming into the city...I need to continually put myself in check as everything just seems so slow in urban speeds

Mmmmm I reckon a Tuono would be the best bet with that budget...if you could stretch to 5.5 you could get really low mileage 2008 model easily
Do you think you could get a 2008 Super Duke for that? They seem to hold their value a little better

edit: just roaming through autotrader and you can get an unregistered 2011 Tuono for less than £7K, mmmmmmm, the V4 is coming aye...

I can pick up an 06 possibly an 07 plate SD which I'm ok with as they all seem to be low milage, just not sure as an everyday bike?

Could you use a power commander or alike? The SMT uses the LC8 but is supposedly a great all rounder so you would hope the SD could be calmed down a little.....would be nice if you had mode selectors too like the more expensive bikes out there

Is the triumph speed triple currently sitting pretty, is it the one you'd go for if you had to right now? The idea of the triple engine does appeal compared to the brutish behaviour of a Tuono or SD
