In your situation i would be as gutted as you obviously are, after all it was pristine now its a weeny bit secondhand. With that said its not worth claiming on insurance for sure.
The only thing concerning me is your seemed reluctance to accept you may be slightly at fault nearly all accidents can be avoided, filtering at junctions is very dodgy fullstop. If you are going to filter past a junction (I do I admit) it must be done at a snails pace to avoid possible nasty outcomes. Not trying to preach btw i am not anywhere near above reproach myself ![]() |

Not snails pace, just get on brakes so you are going to stop before the path of travel from junction (this can be as gentle or as hard as you want). Soon as you can look over the car and see it is clear, give it beans.
Right hand junctions can be worse, better to get out wide to give yourself time to react. Watch for wheels turning, guaranteed they won't check for you.

one thing to remember is, some bikes they won't insure you on unless you have at least 1 years no claims.

Thanks all
First off, yes I was partially to blame as I didn't plan and react well enough to the situation, I am under no illusion that things would have worked out better if I had more experience and sense. I'll know better next time ![]() Just to summarise I wont be claiming and I will only be replacing the foot peg and rear brake lever for now, the rest is superficial and can be sorted out as and when I find cheaper options than new...unless I really want to sell and move on to something else that is and then I'll have to just sort it out as best I can quickly... Atleast I now have an excuse for an aftermarket can....told the mrs that they aren't that loud at low revs and when the baffle is in ![]() Once back on the road I think I'll shell out for some Avon Storm Ultra's to replace the stock 220's on it too ![]()

So long as the performance isn't worse than the stock can I'd be happy...are they atleast on a par with the stock cans?
