jump bike will be pointless
duel (assuming that means duel shock) will make the downhill easier but it'll make the uphill harder.

Hard tails are better for climbing up the inclines - less effort is lost through the rear shock...

Boo ya! 6.69 miles in 32'40'' with a top speed of 30.6mph on 26''x2'' knobblies...

Still haven't managed to crack the steep climb though - always seem to get 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up and then come to a grinding halt!! Even in 1st gear on middle chainring.. gonna drop right down to 1st 1st next time!

Anywho, yeah I mentioned it to miss pt6 last night and she wasn't so warm to the idea even though it'd be a great chance for her to sit around sun bathing and reading her book. Will report back on that....

But I'm coming no matter what yeehaa..

Righto, just spoke to High Rigg farm who answered the phone with an annoyed sounding "Hello."

The fella asked what sort of group we were so I said husbands abd boyfriends with other halves looking to do some mountain biking in the forest and possibly a quiet bbq afterwards. He said that he'd probably take us but that they run a very quiet campsite - then he said "Ah sorry we're fully booked for the 18th june"... Mind you after reading this review it sounds like the site probably wouldn't have been suitable for us anyway.

I've had a quick google round to make sure there's no concerts or events on that weekend (erasure are playing at dalby the following weekend for example) and it doesn't look like it.

There looks to be a nice campsite just east of pickering in thornton le dale but it's exclusive to adults.. How far away from dalby are we all willing to camp? As it stands I can fit upto 5 people in my van (all with seatbelts) but was planning on just removing my front wheel and slinging the bike in the back of the van to save buying a bike rack specially...
