Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).
There's also a "U" rating so please respect this. Newbies can also say "hello" here too.

Honestly northwind, i'm not suggesting anything of the kind. But I have found it quite surprising the amount of people that seem to have summarised on the content of my posts (not their thoughts on me) by what is written by others.

Seems the usual suspects carry some influence around here.
I'm pretty sure you are correct. But then if I was unknown and walked in to a group of friends and started a controversial or political debate I'm sure they would side on certain contentious issues or at least we wary of me - and I'd expect that.

Why wouldn't you be wary or someone you hardly know or had little contact with debating such topics with such well formed and strong opinions - you'd think they may have an agenda or maybe just an arrogant extrovert (or maybe just a strong personality ) - people don't always feel comfortable around that. Not saying that's right or wrong, just the way people are in general.

It's different when you know or are familiar with someone. I'm surprised you are this naive - in fact I don't believe you are. This forum welcomes everyone but the reception largely depends on your approach. If you are perceived as argumentative and opinionated in your first few posts then generally human nature is to react in kind. Of course, I might be wrong but looking at your posts and their reception, I might be right too. Gently does it.
