Neither did mine till it went past 33 thousand miles. Maybe you dont do enough miles

Same here. Mine started spluttering around the 30k mark as well.

Could be a break down in the insulation then? Anyone tried changing the spark plug lead and connector?

I'd say not... Mine did it from about 12000 miles, I'm pretty sure a lot of others will have had it from low miles. I've tried replacing the boot but with no success, so I gave up and went with the crude-but-effective fix.

cheeky! try 38K miles on the SV and 9k on the gixxer since August...

no face it, my sv's a good un and yours was a sneaky bugger

Fairing lowers is about the one thing that hasn't been suggested as a fix for this problem! Anyway, I have a dog for loving me.

Fairing lowers is about the one thing that hasn't been suggested as a fix for this problem! Anyway, I have a dog for loving me.

Seriously tho, i've ridden many times in v heavy rain and the only time i've ever had any problems is when i took the lowers off for a week. put them back on and it was fine again

But the lowers have a big gaping hole to the front - It doesn't make any sense.

Don't think it works in the Pointies as SV Dan had both Lowers & the problem.

So I would recommend people try Northy's £4 fix rather than Rizla's £400 fix
