Why's that then? Not being pedantic (for a change), but I don't understand why there is a temperature that low if nothing can get there.

Would I be right in thinking that absolute zero is -273 Centigrade, or 0 Kelvin? or something like that!!

Yes, it's -273.15°C or 0 K.


Disclaimer: The following is most likely to be complete b***ocks.

Practically, there's always some heat leak (radiation, etc.) to warm the matter up.

a law of physics that forbids it I think.
