Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Breathtaking ignorance of how Coronavirus-19 is transmitted.

I agree, keep it local or keep it indoors. Go for a walk around the block. No need to drive anywhere for a walk. The only reason I've driven for the last four weeks is to go for the weekly shop.

This is EXACTLY what the government orders are. It has nothing to do with privilege, wealth, class, call it what you want. I cannot understand how so many people are somehow turning something designed to keep more of us alive into some kind of put down on the less well advantaged.

Quote:
They've changed the advice wildly like they're gearing up to lift lockdown. You may now drive to the shop to buy luxuries and beer. You may now exercise more than once per day and for longer than 1 hour, in fact on a long walk you are permitted to stop for lunch...and you may drive to go on a walk "as long as you spend more time walking than driving". Seeing as you can walk all day you can presumably drive somewhere half a day's travel away. Opinions aside they need to sort out the advice; how clear it is and how it's disseminated As someone who lives in a beauty spot right now and has seen an uptick in people around, I do think people should be able to drive to the closest greenspace to them (not keen on across town though as they all end up pooling at the popular spots). Some people live in areas where it isn't particularly safe to walk around in let alone appealing - and it's important people stay fit (mentally too).

Where is that new advice? All I have seen is the same old advert that has been about since the start.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Part of the problem is definitely how they're spreading the word but I've heard from newspapers and radio as well as it featuring on our workplace update as we're gov linked.
The best I could quickly find (I'm not linking to the sun) was ITV. They have actually taken the liberty of adding their interpretation and softening it a bit. https://www.itv.com/thismorning/hot-...-dos-and-donts

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
The actual legislation (in NI anyway) never specified an hours exercise or anything like it.
That came from Michael Goves opinion |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I think this is where a lot of confusion is coming in. A lot of that isn't mentioned on the Gov website.
