Re: Vintage film cameras
That sounds cool. Didn't know they existed.
The charity shops around here have been bare all year. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Same here, no epic finds. Got me a Black OM1 but not exactly a steal.

You can get them in various mounts, I've seen them in SR Minolta as well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303124547...oAAOSwf5FcsJts

Re: Vintage film cameras
Shame you can't use them to take photos. What's the view quality like?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Not too bad, not ultra clear, but certainly usable. Does that make sense? It uses the lens as max aperture so I might experiment and see if stopping the lens down helps.

Re: Vintage film cameras
i experimented with stand developing for the first time. Not a planned decision. Some idiot set the the EV compensation dial on the Nikon FE to 1 and a half stops under in mid-roll and forgot to reset it! I thought this was probably the best solution.
Exposures came out surprisingly well in the end and leaving the film to sit in 1% Rodinal for an hour is much more relaxing than developing and fixing in a hectic 15 minutes or less. A few random shots - Ilford Pan 100. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
They came out OK, I like the contrast. I haven't tried stand dev yet, I just follow the massive dev chart timer for agitation.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Don't know whether the contrast is due to the development, the film or both. I'm just happy they came out OK. I wasn't sure what to expect.
I can move on to the next camera in the queue now. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
A very big queue! Have you tried Shanghai GP3? I might have to get some more.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I haven't tried the Shanghai 35mm. It was on my list to buy next time in China, which sadly never happened.
I decided to try out the K1000 and decide whether it's worth keeping or not. Loaded it with a roll of expired poundland Agfa. |
