Re: Vintage film cameras
Hey Howard, West Yorkshire Cameras are having a 10% sale on the 24th November. Just in case you have your eye on something.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Cheers. Looks like free postage too which makes it even better. Will need to check the website on the 23rd.
I bought only my 2nd camera of the year last week. Another SRT101 but only because it came with the Rokkor QF 50mm macro. Lens is nice but the camera doesn't work on the slow shutter speeds though the seller did part refund me for that. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice. I do have a Minolta f3.5 macro but the rear element has fungus damage.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Can't see any fungus in mine ... yet .. but lots of grime and dust. I'll try to clean it up tomorrow.
The Minolta wouldn't wind on or fire when it first arrived although I managed to free it up with a bit of work. I asked the seller if he checked it over before posting. His reply was, "Well, it was working 15 years ago." I plan to take the top off to get at the slow speed mechanism and see if I can get it going. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, 15 years is quite a while lol. But like the Gameboy Micro I just got, worked when put away. But when I get it the battery is toast.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I managed to fix the Minolta. Removed the slow speed mechanism, cleaned it all out and put a tiny bit of oil on the cogs. All the sub 1/30th shutter speeds are working fine now. The biggest faff was repositioning the mechanism back in the camera.
Onto the lens now. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Good to hear Yoko. For some reason I keep getting my alerts turned off to this thread. Really annoying!I've booked one of my TLR cameras in to be serviced, shutter is sticky and running slow.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've finally finished the roll in the Seagull TLR! An unknown small number of shots left in my Contessa LKE then will send both off for developing. Going to sell the Seagull at Christmas, also a K1000 and I'm sure there is another ready to go.
