When I had my little incident in 2018, Carol Nash pushed the loan bike option vigorously.
This is despite only having one functioning limb. Obviously I rejected their offer.

Paperwork said cost was £160 a day. The 2 months I'd have needed it for would have been more than buying a new bike. Yes this is a scam pushing up our insurance costs.

My minor gripe starts with a question: When is 4 inches not 4 inches?
Answer: when it's ducting.

I have an old extractor fan which I'm going to repurpose in the garage, it has an exact diameter of 4 inches. 4 inches is 101.6mm. If you purchase 4 inch ducting it is 100mm and I don't think anyone makes an adaptor. I was planning on using rigid ducting but I think I'll now have to use flexible ducting and ram it on the fan to use the technical description.

I suppose this is why we have duct tape.

BTW if your extractor fan is an '''old''' 4" then get a new 100mm fan. no point in having to rip it out again coz it only lasted a few months.

at least you got more than a few hours notice

The infection rate will drop over Christmas due to less people mixing, and we'll be 'out' of the the higher restrictions before schools reopen and it starts over again . . . .

it's an old fan but the motor's good - the impeller disconnected itself from the shaft. I fixed that and have successfully used it as a portable fan a few times. It'll do for an experiment.

True, I've finished at work until the 4th anyway. Maybe things will change.

ermm aren't we all going into lockdown (4) after xmas... i know the schools up here are off till the 18th or something like that.

tbh i think they should just let people get on with it in their own district and not allow them out of their district. that way business can stay open. if your stupid enough to go drinking or swinging etc.etc then you deserve what you get. get caught out of your district then fined £3k and put in jail for 2 weeks.

we are not being tough enough on stupid people.

You can't restrict people to a district; how many would not have access to shop,; medical, support bubble.

I live near the meeting of 3 counties and within 1 mile of the area there are 4 major supermarkets split between the 3 counties . . .

Stupid people will be this regardless of what you do. There is no need to restrict the work of the good for those who spoil it.

I had to laugh when a spokesman for "BoZo and the Performing Clowns" said that the government wants to stay ahead of the virus. I think I must have a different concept of "staying ahead".
