I'll gladly help out with anything you need for this bid.

I did have a very quick chat with a couple of people in Masham about possibilities for an AR - there's a campsite here which has a massive field for occasional use and the owner splits his time between the site and fixing bikes . Let me know if you need alternatives researching

OK ive spoken to Jon Gomm and he has space next year but i can't find out much more until we have a green light.
I've also spoken to Mark a local comedian booking agent and I'm waiting for a list of male/female artists that he can suggest.
I do understand the AR is about meeting org members but I think an hours comedy or music would be a good ice breaker for the evening as there will still be hours to chat with each other.
I'l let you know more if we win the bid.

For non-campers.
There are plenty of B&Bs around Austwick from luxury at cost with this.

To those a little cheaper like this.

Edit: Austwick is only a small village so it should be within walking distance from the campsite Dizzy has suggested.

Sorry.... I think you've clicked on Buckingham Palace there Smudge!!!

Second ones more what we poor people can afford

Austwick is a tiny village, its about 0.6 miles away. Last time we went to the Dalesbridge centre we drove in one end and out the other in a blink.

Theres also accomodation in Giggleswick and Settle for those who wish to stay off site.

http://www.hartsheadhotel.co.uk/

http://www.kingwilliamthefourthguesthouse.co.uk/

http://www.oastguesthouse.co.uk/

Giggleswick is 4.5 miles away as is Settle.

Ingleton Youth Hostel is here

IF we are successful I will gather all these back up again, and post them up with our proposal package in a seperate thread. I may have to anyway, as important details are getting lost amongst very healthy discussions.

Lou - did the Rock & Bike Fest Sat/Sun @ Squires last weekend. Facilities not fantastic, food can get dangerous, but all else OK. Bags of camping.
Just thought a memory jogger. Your idea of a deep country experience with top roads appeals more to me.

Hi John, yeah I've camped at Squires twice in the past. As you say camping theres bags of it, but everything else isn't up to much. Besides, you get loads of other bikey people sharing our space, so not much room for private org thing!

Thanks for your approval on the deep country bit
