The Cotswolds roads are fantastic for biking, so long as you're sensible with your overtakes (lots of "tempting" places where it's not safe).

My vote goes to Cotswolds, across into Wales, either across the bridge (for the sight of a couple of dozen bikes coming out of the "starting blocks" at the severn bridge toll booth- which is free to bikes!) Or up via Cheltenham, Gloucester, then into Abergavveny and finishing up into the Brecon Beacon Mountains. Do-able in a day, easily, even with plenty of breaks.

Not to far for the Londoners/M4 Corridor peeps. Nor the Welsh.

I know the Scots will have a fair old trek

Ok, So then 3 choices

Cotswolds (Late comer)

Southeast england (17 votes)

South wales (13 Votes)

Scotland would be great but i think that sadly too many southerners on this borad wont make the trip. I for one have no inclicnation to ride 400 miles each way! Sorry

I dont mind organising the South one, and even the wales one, but im a bit fuzzy on the cotswolds.

There are plenty of SV Ecosse ride outs and this year will be no different. As always, it's an open invite to anyone who wants to make the trip.

Na, thats cool. I wasnt saying that. But i think for a good turnout like the buxton one, then i think it does need to be a bit central like! The sout of course for me would be great, but anything more than about a 200 mile ride to get there just kills me.

I said this on the other thread.

South Wales gives us the chance to do the route that Mogs has put together for the ride on April 23rd (see thread in the surfers), multiple runs up and down the Wye Valley in the eve and early when theres few cars, and the Mendips south of Bristol for Cheddar and the like (Sveren Bridge free for bikes). Theres also plenty to do for non-biking guests. We could even go to Bath as well.

Couple hours from London/Birmingham at most, 3 Manchester prob.

But Ill go anywhere me (as long as its sunny).
