I reckon early august is a good one... We should stay away from the bank holidays though, too many people will be away/have family commitments etc. Also, the roads will tend to be at their busiest, and if the final location's anything like it us up here, the traffic cops tend to be out in force too. Not too sure about the payday argument, it does make sense when people have short notice but when you know months in advance it's not so difficult to budget...

School holidays and roads full of caravans, not sure about august, at least with early summer the holidays arent in full swing, however I will go with the flow, just looking forward to it already.

I tweaked the list a little, how about these as options ? I think that end of May weekend might also end up being a bank holiday one to...

Weekend of 30th, 31st May, 1st June
Weekend of 27th, 28th, 29th June
Weekend of 4th, 5th, 6th July
Weekend of 25th, 26th, 27th July
Weekend of 1st, 2nd, 3rd August
Weekend of 29th, 30th, 31st August, ( Normally Bank Holiday weekend I think )

with this much notice, i dont think it matters about when you get paid.

IMHO I reckon that to save any messing around and going round the houses and all the crap that the mods have to go through that THEY (the mods) should set the date. Its the SV650.org AR and should be in part controlled by the mods. They choose a date that either is the same each year or varies dependant on location availability but the location is polled.
Thats 1 less headache and 1 less argument.

Actually I would say do it the other way.

Decide on the venue, then look at available dates.

Mainly because, if it goes the way I think it is, you, Viper, may actually get to set the date

Which is what I said I wanted to do in the first place...

Then lets either set a date or set a venue and we can then make plans around it, you know hols etc. I think from what I have seen most people want to got to Vipers BUT we need to make a decision one way or another sooner rather than later, IMHO.

as it looks as if its going to be at vipers, surley getting him to pick the dates when will be best

None of those dates are the Bank holiday dates next year. According to here the bank holidays are 26th May and 25th August.
