Should please my neighbours in the close

TBH I am not sure when I'll get a replacement exhaust, might not even be for a year yet as I have until Feb 2012 on the Suzuki Warranty left and have been told once putting a custom exhaust on could void some warranty claims should they arise..i.e. anything valve related etc...

What's the chances of any valve issues on an 1-2 year old SV, unheard of? If so I may just say f**k it and start the customisation ball rolling...and keep the thing for quite some time

I feel a dealership phone call on Monday coming..re-asking this same question again

Things would be oh so simple if I had a second hand SV that was not in a warranty still and was there to mess with...having a one year old bike it's kinda hard for me to decide if I leave it standard or customise so early on...yes things are as simple as you make them but I'm not that simple

This accident has got me re-thinking things just a little...maybe I just wont share my thoughts for a while

I see that you have mentioned anti lock brakes might have saved you in this, yes it would have saved the wheel locking and going down but according to a letter in MCN in dry weather the braking distance is actually increased due to the wheels not locking, so you might have actually hit the car, what anti lock does is allow you to still maintain steering control to avoid the obstacle, fine if there's room!. Anti lock really comes into it's own on wet roads where the chance of losing the front or rear end under braking is increased due to lack of grip.

if you want i have for offer:

rearset and brake pedal that you require.
indicator housing
bar end
front brake lever

all from a k7 with 1087 miles on the clock. yes just over 1k on the clock so the parts are like new apart from the indicator housing which is from a k8 but the wires are cut. no problems as you just take out the wiring from your one and put it in my one then put on your lens.

PM me to discus if you like. i also have an MIVV oval (alloy) can and link pipe i may part with.

Daryl.
It was in the wet and the road was a bit slippery, I was progressive with the brakes but distances were tight so had to squeeze hard in the end...that's why I lost the front end I am sure. I am nowhere near as experienced as most posting here so I half expect I could have let off and re-applied maybe but hind sight is great isn't it. I should have been more cautious so I didn't need to anchor on...it was dark and wet....not great conditions

Still got me thinking about ABS though, I would be a nice to have for sure

That has put my mind at ease, thanks! I half expect zero issues with the bike anyway, it's been around for a long time to get right, atleast for the main areas of concern such as the engine and moving parts...

I tried 4 times to get in touch with her yesterday for this exact reason, she has given me her "home company" number and it just rings and rings. I half expect I'll not get hold of her until Monday now anyway...

It's worth trying I know, worst case she says just claim best case she'll part with a few quid to get the bike back on the road...
