I wanted to say exactly that but couldn't do it in a way as not to come across racist. Where are the water cannon and tear gas? Riot police retreating because people hurling stuff at them, they have shields ffs! They can't handle it as they cut police funding. Until the army get involved and a curfew is brought in this won't stop.

Just caught up with all this, I'm yet to watch anything on the telly about it and not sure I want to, hearing it on the radio alone is hard enough. Our alarm wakes us up with the news and a chap was being interviewed about his 140 year old furniture business through 5 generations that had been burnt to the ground, how utterly soul destroying. It's taking a bit to sink in, just the scale of the riots and the amount of people involved. Very glad we live in the country

Liverpool - Student housing burned down, groups of upto 300 rioters looting and setting fire to shops/clubs.

I agree with others who have said we should wheel in the Army and/or give the Police martial law powers. Set a curfew and make it clear that anyone out in groups after a certain time is likely to be 'disabled' by any means necessary.

I've done a few "riots" over the years, Manchester United homecoming after winning the triple, Glodwick in Oldham, reclaim the streets, but what's going on now is waaaaay beyond that!

I'm aghast at what I'm seeing at the moment on the news. I can't say what I think of these animals, this is a public forum. It's thug life. Scum.
