Well the Hoopers is quite nice. Good flavour without being overly sweet.

Re: The Org Bar, Pull up a chair and share. What're you drinking?
I thought they balanced that kinda well.
Tonight the weekend begins with a couple of Negronis. Rangpur for one and Parma Violet for the other. Lovely spirit forward and nicely bitter drink. Equal parts gin, Campari and vermouth for anyone playing along at home. Pro tip, swap out the gin for a nice bourbon (maybe even a rye) to make it a boulevardier, a less bitter but more characterful (IMHO) variation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I kept it simple tonight with a couple of bottles of Hobgoblin Gold to wash down a curry. Very nice all in all.

Jamesons Crested with a little dash of ginger ale. Potent but smooooooth.

Makers mark not a fan personally but I've started so I'll finish.

The Org Bar, Pull up a chair and share. What're you drinking?
Hmm not tried Jameson’s (any of them, the stout caskmates sounds interesting especially)
Quite like makers but it’s high wheat content so it’s a little different from most bourbons. Makers 46 is one of the few I don’t drink oddly enough yet I quite like makers mark regular. Anyway sorry, waffling. Decided to see what (other than gin) mixes with tonic, specifically lemon tonic. Started off as 5 (smoked rum, bourbon, tequila, scotch and vodka) but got expanded to a nicer rum, a rye bourbon and a peated scotch after the smoked rum went so well. Vodka was boring, tequila stood out well when mixed, bourbon was OK abut rye one was way better. Rum was nice enough to have again, scotch ended up as lemon and honey tasting and the winner for me was the peated scotch (sherry casked) kind of a shame to mix it but it was a really nice combination. 60ml tonic and 20ml of each spirit to keep it comparable. (Shared between two of us) so not nearly as hefty as it might sound. Edit: messy bar due to a refurbishment in progress at the moment. It’s gonna be cooler Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have done a similar comparison (although not as thorough!) using ginger ale as the mixer. Trouble is I am sure Schwepps has reduced the sugar levels in it recently and it does not quite taste the same any more. Anywho, navy rum and regular Jamesons are both jolly nice mixed this way.
