That I'm at a gig (see gig thread) and I'm drinking tea! Dear God what has become of me? Everyone is sitting down though they may stand to dance later, but there's no mosh pit, the loos are clean, you can buy champagne and I came here wearing a pashmina (admittedly with massive biker style boots, skinny jeans and my knuckle duster handbag).

Even the musician I've come to see has given up the heroin and joined a gym.

It's less sex, drugs and rock n roll, more yoga, earl grey and Radio 4.

Know the feeling. A US colleague sent me a link to her Rolling Thunder chapter site and for a laugh I signed up and posted a few silly comments. My colleague thought it was great as she gets our humour and we both thought the bile and hatred that came back to me from the rest of them was just hilarious!


Mine for today. A certain country who is part of the project I'm supporting. Every single time you spend some time preparing a simple template for them, to give them the info they need without hunting for it, to save them time and make the consolidation easy... they ignore it and do their own thing. Such a waste of their time and now mine as I have to change the comparison model completely to show their data.

Multi gripe tonight.
Motorcyclist: Two lane roundabout. Left to go left/straight and right for right. What does the old duffer on a Harley do? Right hand lane and then straightlines to carry on instead of turning right and it was next to a car. Near miss.

Corsa driver: I was following this car and our lane opened up into two approaching a round about. A car coming the other way wants to turn right across us into a side road. Girl in Corsa now in left lane doesn't notice I have moved to the right and am halfway through passing her and flashes the oncoming car to cross our lane. Luckily I am not moving fast and see the flash reflected off the other car and stop.

The other is general lane discipline and lack of indicating.

If you say so mate. I must have been to the same riding school as the Harley rider, only I remember the other important rule which is to never be alongside another vehicle on a roundabout.......

Unless I have described it poorly or my driving instructor was a knob then surely you need to be on the right hand side to go right and on the left to go left or straight on? Here is what I mean:

So if you're following a car that is turning left and you want to go straight on you wouldn't brake on his offside quarter and then as he exits left straight line the roundabout and go on your way? I know I would. Note I'm not saying enter the roundabout alongside him just in case he does go straight on, just have your option available to you should he go left, or even decide to just stop instead of entering the roundabout.
