I'm in the same boat. I don't know what I did to my ankle but every time I go out it flares up again. So I'm not going out again. It's still tender to touch and has been for weeks

Take it easy, both of you - it's not worth rushing injuries.

I too am currently a member of the I can't run club, due to a buggered back.
Still sore after tweaking it 4 weeks ago.

I have however just finished reading my first "running" book. Born to Run by Christopher McDougall.
I really enjoyed it, but then I have been to the Copper Canyon and Creel in 2003 as part of my year of travels, and meet a couple of the Tarahumara people - although not the runners in the book.
More basket weavers and small children selling woven bracelets. I did however use the dreaded dial up internet mentioned in the book.
Still, Creel is a special place I will never forget.

Mend well gents - it sucks not being able to run.
I might risk a gentle run over the weekend.

I've already got my second book lined up too. Don't Stop Me Now, by Vassos Alexander.
Both books recommended by people I've met at the running club.

Risked my first run last night - more a jog - only 4 1/2 miles, but it was good to get out.
My knee didn't like me from the off, and my back was complaining at mile marker 1.

Oh and my fitness has plummeted off a cliff.

But the scenery and weather were lovely - mental note to think about taking water if I'm gonna run further.

Well done Martin, just don’t go at it to hard too soon.

My back is starting to ease now so I think in a couple of days I’ll risk a walk/jog around my short local loop and see how I get on.

How’s your ankle now Darren?

I walked to the shop the other day and it is sore again. I think it needs a good few weeks off

First gentle run for nearly 2 weeks after injuring my back. All good now though and no back pain.

Forgot to stop my Garmin when I got back!

I got off very lightly all things considered. I could have done a lot more damage.

Enjoyable run this evening till a quarter of a mile from home when a dog in a garden lunged at Mabel who then managed to trip me up with the lead. I went down and smacked my head on the road. Cuts and grazes to hand, knee, and head, bruised finger, and painful ribs. There was a copious amount of blood and a lot of swearing!
