Hmm Drew, is the the drop-out (bit of frame the axle sits in) or the dérailleur hanger (sticky down bit dérailleur is bolted to) that is damaged? Replaceable dérailleur hangers often bolt to/over the dropout. I see replaceable hangers on the decathlon website...

Its the hanger I believe. The bit that hangs down from the frame for which the derraileur is attached to. It is kept against the frame by the QR.

Our guide in France had a Nicolai, the replacement dropout for that was 55 euros IIRC, and he had to wait 3 weeks for them to make him one
