My wife and eldest both currently have Covid. Thankfully they are both ok.
It has hit my missus harder than my son, but she's double jabbed and seems to be getting better the last few days. My daughter contracted it 10 days ago.
No idea where from as they are off school and haven't been out much as my wife works from home. She was fine after a couple of days.

So the fact my other son had it back in Dec, means I'm the only one in our household who hasn't had it. Yet!
I'm getting sick of daily lateral flow tests - my missus is making me do them.

My Gripe - The number of bloody phone calls from Track and Trace. As everyone in the house is a close contact of everyone else.
They must have rung about 8 times now. And you have to go through the same bull**** read out speech/questions again and again.
I get they need to do it, but when they have already rung and gone though it with an adult, surely their system should be able to say that they don't need to then speak to the same adult and do it for the other 4 people in the house. Especially when they are under 10. FFS.

On other matters, if you are double jabbed, legally you don't have to isolate for 10 days. But they would like you to. My wife and son are by the way.
My son is gutted as he's fed up being at home and wanted to go to school to see his mates (13).

Part of me would like to get it, as I could do with 10 days away from work, especially as I've now been told I have to wear a bloody mask all day whilst sat at my desk.
But seeing how it hit my missus, I think I'd rather not.

But I do like the idea of being sat in my garden playing with pup.

Glad to hear you're OK Gary - hope your daughter is getting on alright with it.

One of my work colleagues was in a similar situation to you SG a few months ago - hope your two feel better soon. I also wonder when I'm going to get it as I'm sure it will strike at some point... Trouble is, as I work from home, as soon as I'm a bit better I'd be expected to log on again so no 10 day rest would be likely for me.

I hope they get over it quickly. I have started taking vitamin D supplements which seems to have helped a little (might be wishful thinking )

Have they lost their sense of smell and things often now taste weird? It can take 3 to 12 weeks for that to recover, apparently.

Yeah, my wife can't smell or taste a thing.
Which is quite good timing, as pup is pretty ripe when he lets one go...

I was once camping in a frame tent with my wife and 2 young children on a site at Roy Bridge in Scotland where a group of vintage/veteran motorcyclists were staying and one of them decided to ride around the tents on his motorbike howling and yelping about 1 o'clock in the morning. Very scary.

Temporary traffic lights. They're everywhere in Shropshire and Wales at the moment. Most of them seem pointless too.

Well they certainly ain't fixing potholes, cones and speed limits along Telford eastern distributor, but not a workman in site... Never know when Ironbridge or surrounding roads will be shut. The temporary traffic light suppliers must have friends on the council... they are having a boom year.

Council budgets must be spent . . . . .

They have recently put one up on my way to work, between Ascot & Wentworth. No pre warning signs, and there was no issues with the road, so i assume its an 'emergency' one for utilities of some sort. The sort of emergency which means they're not there 24/7 working, you know
This is on the same week schools have gone back and the PGA tournament has started at Wentworth Golf Club . . . . . no doubt they'll be taken down after the tournament has finished, coincidentally.
