Says 521/16 on the back so 6x6 so it's a 6x6. Nearly pooed myself as the first pic shows the from view of the rangefinder they've put on top - thought it might be a Super Ikonta! It's not though, it's an auxiliary RF. If the hood fits it then you might need it if the lens isn't coated, otherwise it'll go for a few quid on its own. You're right about the flash bulbs, not worth a great deal, someone made better money selling a brochure about them! I think I was thinking of flash cubes.

Yep it's an odd one, maybe it was made to go there, maybe it's just been bodged together. I once saw on ebay a Bessa I think it was, and they must have had problems with the struts or bellows, anyway they'd made a wooden box to replace the folding section!

You have better eyes than me. I can now read the rangefinder says Weltzar on it.

Wow that was quick. Wasn't expecting it until tomorrow. Guess Yokohama's will be waiting for him.

Yep, my package landed today too. I'm going to have fun putting it all back together.
I managed to fire off half a roll of 36 exposures in York yesterday and played around with the OMD a bit too

It will be worth it if you can make it work. There is enough power getting through to run the meter but as soon as you press anything it dies. What did you decide to shoot with in the end film-wise.

I thought I'd try a rangefinder so took a Ricoh 500, see what it produces. I'm quite impressed with the OMD image quality, and also discovered that it can be used to take very surreptitious street shots. I'm going to experiment with that.
Those X700 symptoms definitely sound like the capacitor. Will see if I can dig the top one out.
