Is it possible with an SV

would more info help? hmmm... took it to the jet wash earlier, started again to get it home but can't start it now.

also took the rearset off to try and change my gear lever though. Couldn't so put it all back on again... that's when i realised it wouldn't start so I'm not sure what I've donew.

Might have to join the AA.

Yes you can jump start an SV but is that your problem?Is your battery flat or have you got water somewhere it should'nt go?Or have you disturbed some wiring when removing the footrest?There is a cutout switch on the sidestand so I would check the wires into that first.

What a numpty I am. Call it wiring, yeh, that's what it was... not the fact that it wazs in gear, no that wasn't the reason. it was the wiring.

And to think, I nearly had to spend £80 joining the RAC.

Handy to know that it CAN be bump started though... for the future.

We all do it. When I got mine, I didn't know you had to pull in the clutch to start it- I went to pick it up from where it had been stored, thought it had a flat battery, pulled the battery out, took it home, charged it, took it back, plugged it in, still wouldn't start... Went home again, very angry, and on the bus I read the manual and...

I vividly remember a sign in the lauderette my ma used to use before we had a wosh mosh, back in the early 70's.
