Default SV K4 Fork Oil

Hi All,

Just a quicky - never checked fork oil since I bought it (3yrs) fed up with front end bottoming and front skidding if Em braking also the final kick is front squishy.

So, I'm a fat bast✳✳d 19st, standard springs, 04 pointy - would a 15wt motul help sort things out (I reckon standard 10wt would be too light)

Also, how do you measure air gap on these springs/no springs compressed/extended
(Gap 105mm Y/N)

Thanks

Fork oil isn't your answer, you need springs. Online calculators are available, Racetec etc, find the model, enter your weight and see what is recommended. I'd guess you'll be needing 1.0kg/mm or something like, but you need to check yourself. For example http://www.sonicsprings.com/catalog/...dcca29fc3b9197

I've had linear springs from K-tech http://www.ktechsuspension.com/ , they've been very helpful.
I like Fuchs/Silkolene "Maintain" RSF oil (used to be called "PRO RSF"), the actual viscosities tend to be higher than the nominal rating suggests so probably a 10W would do you with the new springs. See white table half way down here http://www.peterverdone.com/archive/lowspeed.htm

springs are for weight... oil is for dampening... heavier oil wont make your springs stiffer.
