Default favourite routes, south east

i'm after suggestions for some nice routes in the surrey/sussex area - something that can be done as a round trip in around 3 hours from south west london. yep, gotta keep the mrs happy.....

A nice combo of fast A roads and some twisty/turny stuff would be ideal. Went to Worthing on the A24 on Sunday, but what a dull road!

i think there is a web site where people post up their favourite routes, can't find the link, any ideas?

ta, Will.

I was on the road from Ashford to Rye and then Rye to Battle on Sunday morning. I was on my old bike and was more than a little bit ****ed off by the number of modern bikes coming the other way overtaking cars thereby forcing me into the left hand kerb to avoid a collision! A very, very poor show IMHO.

that was the rye - brenzett stretch not the camber - lydd road which is the right turn just out of rye.

the rye - brenzett road is very very twisty if you dont take the camber turn off... a couple of really sharp bends... you really need to take it easy if you dont know the road...

if you venture kent way, the a20 is good, the a251/a252 around charing and chillham are awesome and the a28 is always a good run. The a259 [which is the brighton - hastings road as well] from hastings to rye is cool too.

Try M3/A3 to Aldershot/Farnham then A31 to A32. You'll know when you're on the A32 for all the signs warning you of how many rider casualties there were last year , Then left onto A272 towards petersfield, after about 10 miles, passing an even larger rider warning sign . Enjoy the A272 for as long as you feel , perhaps jumping back up to big smoke using the A22. I did that a few sundays again and it took me about 3 hours. Very nice roads .
