Default ULEZ testing

You can now get your bike tested to see if your emissions levels will exempt your bike from the ULEZ

https://www.nationalemissionstestcentre.com

If anyone uses these guys, let us know your results!

If you have the injection models they are ULEZ exempt.
Log in to TfL and raise a claim. Upload your V5 and within a week they send you a polite letter informing you that your claim was successful.
Carb models not sure, if the V5 does not state NOx level then surely any MoT centre can measure it, but I believe TfL have tried to limit this (probably to make some dosh out of the garage) to their "approved" centres. Yeah they look like the only one.
Best bet, go to the website as you could be wasting your money otherwise.

Yep thanks but I’ve been through all of that (I’ve had my 1150gs exempt by submitting the relevant COC docs) and know the old curvies are subject to the charge... wouldn’t be looking to pay £175+ without doing my research, chap

Yeah, a real bummer. They sell themselves as the ONLY approved testing station, so I figure they are.

As you have asked for though, "Has anyone used them?" I cannot comment. Anyone that has?

So I called them yesterday - the guy I spoke to said they can’t be certain but some have passed, some have failed. He was very helpful though (seemed familiar with SVs) and basically said that via adjusting carbs or adding catalytic converters (at a cost obviously) to the pipes they can help most bikes pass.

My SV is a toy so I have to weigh up whether it’s worth it, my GS is already exempt, but if it’s your everyday bike a few hundred pounds is better than £12/day on the ULEZ

Also to be fair to them, they’re the only ones endorsed by TfL - apparently other testing stations can apply to be ULEZ testers, but as yet none have

Hey have you (or anyone) tried the NOx testing with a curvy? I can see some fairly old bikes have passed https://www.bikerandbike.co.uk/list-...ez-exemptions/

I've got a 2000 sv650 that I'd really like to keep, it's handy in London and not attractive to thieves, but can't go to central London unless I can get it excepted.

Any info much appreciated! Or I'll just have to give it a go and potentially lose the testing fee.

Thanks.
