It won't power up the laptop, when the charger is plugged in it says it has 88% charge but the charger doesn't get warm and never changes from 88%. If they've followed the same colour code on their battery as Lenovo then they have the wires crossed. I'd need to cut the wires and cross connect them to fix it since the pins aren't removable from the mini plug and since I don't know what the pin out is anyway, it would be a gamble so I'm a bit stuck.
I'm sure this is why China's GDP is so high - you have to order two to get one that works.
Apparently being wired differently with the same colour wires in different places isn't a problem. They suggested leaving it on the charger for 24 hours but since the charge level didn't change in 4 hours and the charger was cold I didn't think it worthwhile. Then they asked me if the battery (that they recommended) is the same as the original. Since it's a 3 cell instead of a 2 cell running at a different voltage with a different firmware level and a higher capacity I'd have to say: no. So now they want me to buy a new charger. I declined and asked for an RMA - it's gone quiet.

Shouldn't replacing a battery be simple?

Since when did a bayonet fitting become old fashioned? Went into B&Q (yes I know) yesterday looking for some LED bulbs, and couldn't find any of the right lumens with a bayonet fitting.

My girlfriend went and asked a young assistant, who instead of saying I don't know, said it was probably an old fashioned fitting!

Sparky had just put in new bayonet light fittings!

B&M or Morrisons

its another euro thing and was to make buying bulbs universal.

higher power LED (over 80w equivalent) are very few and far between and cost a a lot of money.

I find Home Bargains has a good selection of LED bulbs.

well, there's the Edison thread (standard USA bulb), the small Edison thread, the bayonet cap (what we used to think of as normal), the small bayonet cap, the GU10 (early type LED and halogen) and a few obscure ones, too

When I left for US in 89 it was bayonet cap only, when I came back you'd changed everything. I can't leave you alone for 5 minutes.

I've a huge box of spare light bulbs, with every conceivable fitting, wattage, technology and now colour temperature. Despite that when a bulb blows in this house I've never got the right replacement.

Can someone please switch off winter. I'm fed up with being battered by wind, rain, hail and snow.

My nieces new house had the 'GU10' base fitted in every fitting, I fink it is an elf and safety thing, when the bulb is out there are no exposed electrical contacts for people to poke fingers ( or their tongue ) into.......

All my ceiling pendant lights are bayonet fittings, didn't think they had gone out of fashion. Recessed downlighters are screw fittings. Thought that was normal but things might have changed in recent years.
