Default Fuel pump trouble

I've been having problem's with the fuel pump in my 06 sv.
For the last few months it hasn't been coming on every when I turn the bike on. It might make no noise at all or else a small squeak and nothing.
It might take a few times turning it on and off, or just waiting for a few minutes to get it running.

Just a day or two ago, it started making a much higher pitched noise after a few minutes of running.
Any ideas?
Also, if I have to replace it, what models can I get a pump from and how much should one cost?

Cheers,
Pillphil

you're best getting a late k5 or k6 pump. the wiring loom from earlier models has a different connection to the fuel pump and i'm not sure if there was any difference when they introduced the twin spark on the k7. Stick to them two models and you'll be ok, should pick em up for around £30.
