Question Anyone know where to find 20mm U-Bolts?

I want to make a bracket for my tomtom to fit on my handle bar, which is 20mm wide.

I have been hunting everywhere for a few u-bolts to fit the bar, but cant find u-bolts anywhere!

Any help would be much appreciated!

e-Bay or somewhere like B&Q ?

I use Tek Hardware (eBay shop) but I don't think they've got any

I think you'll find handlebars are usually 22mm. Some "large capacity V-Twin American built cruisers with a double-barreled name" have 1 inch bars.

Sorry, don't know where to look mate. Most I've seen fit onto the tank mounts. I wouldn't have room on my handlebars for a satnav mount i don't think

Halfords, they might have them marked up as exhaust clamps.

Being a handy Engineer myself (!) I would take some suitable studding (i.e. threaded rod), gently heat up with a blow-torch or the like, and bend as required. For a nice finish, some matched heat shrink placed all the way around the u-bend, leaving about 10mm at either end, and shrink to size. Et-voi la!

My Zumo uses a U bolt on the bar. Maybe you can order one from a Garmin supplier? Don't TomTom do a U bolt for the Rider anyway? Probably have to pay through the nose for it that way though.

I was quite tempted to do this actually.

Half-wits do only do u-bolts for exhausts no smaller than 3" I think (at least when I last looked) - I've tried wickes but not B&Q yet, may try them tonight.

1" is 25mm right? I wanted a tight fitting one really so may end up making them.

Tomtom's fitting kits are really crap, thats why I've resorted to making one! The tomtom rider would fit really snuggly between the two risers.
