No, it runs on whatever you burn to compress the air, most likely coal or nuclear fission, the compressed air is just an energy storage medium

Spot on wolf, it just moves the carbon emissions from point of use back to point of production. Sustainable it's not.

not to mention there are far more efficient ways of storing energy than compressed air, temperature changes take a fair chunk of what you put in
