they will usually give a price on condition of a quick lookover on the mechanics of the car.

Buyer beware. They'd screw you, and give you bottom book price. I'd have no problem doing it to a main stealer... wouldn't do it privately.

Re: Swapping out a car? any comeback
Just flogged an Astra with the same issue. I sold it privately and declared all the faults, so took under the odds for it. If you sell it to a dealer though, it's their responsibility to provide a car that is "fit for purpose" so the next buyer could return it to the dealer for a refund or repair, unless the dealer sells is specifically "as-is".
So if you can get a dealer to buy it without noticing, I would say go for it without worrying. BUT dealers will know what to look for and may see it and knock you down in price.

Yeah, the Karma God will spot what you did and make the rest of your life a load of ****. Your choice though.
As it happens though, the Karma God hates Car dealers, so you should be OK. Let me know if you need any more advice. You're welcome. Last edited by The Idle Biker; 05-02-12 at 08:24 PM. |

Put yourself in new owners shoes...How ****ed would you be.
I know you could argue and say, well if they do it.... but don't, just don't. |
