Talking People in fear for their lives...

I'm sorry but if I was a gull I feel I would get great kicks out of divebombing a human for a tasty few chips and it would be far easier than following a fishing boat for miles hoping for morsels. Having spent a lot of time recently with these birds in their natural environment away from the seaside cafes and rubbish tips their behaviour is completely different where they are not encouraged to take advantage of human food resources. Besides which, the birds in the video are Herring Gulls, now on the Red List of threatened species so not a lot they can do. Made me laugh anyway.

I do feel sorry for the chippies but if people are losing their food through inappropriate self defence then I don't see why the chippies should reimburse their food.

Surely a well timed punch in the beak might teach it a lesson

hmmm chip sized dumps from seagulls on head, would be preferable to snappy beaks stealing them!

So the moral of the story is: If you want two for the price of one in Bridlington, make two visits to the chippy with a sob story about a seagull with a 4 foot wingspan on the second visit.

Chippy in Whitby would tell you to do one, as should the one in Brid, it's your own fault for not protecting your chips.. kick the feckers up the egg chute I say.

My dog (and his dad before him, bless him) hates the seagulls with a passion too, they nick all the nice scraps off the floor before he gets there!

Jesus!! I won't feel so bad now if I don't go and help an injured wild animal.

Made me laugh when they say they went back and the bird had died anyway!
That's gotta be the bigges kick in the balls.

You wouldn't want to mess with gannets anyway, they have a 6 foot wingspan and massively powerful bills. He was brave I'll give him that!
