Default Pointy non starter after new plugs and air filter.

Right rebuilt the K9 with some nice new fairings, now time to get it started. Battery has a lake of power so tried to jump start from the car. Trouble is nothing happening. All I've done is change air filter and four new plugs.

Anyone got and ideas what I've done wrong? All HT leads on correctly all the tank placed on and electrical leads and fuel hose back on. Turns overs but seems a lack of fuel and can not smell any from exhaust. Also it has a FI light after a about 10-15 seconds of trying turn over.

Fuses also checked and OK, fuel pump does its job. Put in about 3 litres of fuel too.

It's not the tip over as it was working 6 weeks ago before I changed plugs and air filter. This is why I'm confused.

i hate saying this but if it was working fine before hand then you have done something while in there.

my suggestion (for what its worth) go and retrace your steps. if this means stripping back the work you have done then so be it, that's how the cookie crumbles.

i have on occasion missed stuff and had to do exactly the same. it's amazing what you find you have missed or disturbed and my favourite is not connecting one of the vacuum pipes that come out of the air box for the idle sensor as they are thin and easily missed. bike runs like a bag off poo and throws an FI.

when doing any maintenance that requires lifting the tank, leave the tank raised till you have made sure that the bike is running that way you know what you have been messing with and what to look for. if bike starts running like a bag of poo once the tank is down again then you know it's somewhere in that procedure and can be a crushed breather/vacuum/fuel pipe.

Turns out its the power commander that is the problem. Taken out and now running. So more money on getting this back up and running.

Also DON'T buy the fairing from Poland as they do not fit a K9

Think he's on about the pattern Polish fairing meaning they wont fit any SV650 properly!
